Course Overview

Year 1

Component 1: Love through the Ages (written paper) : 40% – 3 tasks, 75 marks (25 per task), 3 hours.  Open book in Section C only.

Component 2: Texts in shared contexts (written paper) : 40% – 3 tasks, 75 marks (25 per task), 2 hours and 30 mins. Open book.

Component 3: Independent Critical Study: Texts across time (coursework) – 20%. One task, 50 marks, word count 2500, moderated by AQA.

In addition to University degrees in literature both as a single honour, or as a joint honour, this A-level is regarded as an academic choice that will support a range of university options such as law, philosophy or history
