At CLF Post16, we endeavour to support your journey through education and onto the next step. Part of that support includes guidance finance and help with expenses. CLF Post 16 runs a discretionary bursary scheme to support students with a low socio-economic background. There are various stages of income available that provide students with a monthly sum, which is paid directly into their bank accounts.
In addition to this monthly Bursary Support Scheme, we also offer a Financial Application Scheme, open to all students. This scheme requires students to apply for educational materials and resources to support their learning. A panel decides on the proportion of support awarded using a sliding scale, where anything from 25% to 75% of the full cost to the student may be reimbursed. These payments are considered for ‘one-off’ or ‘isolated needs’ and may be awarded for things like school trips, revision or coursework books, specialist equipment/clothing etc. required for presentations, interviews etc.
Students can take advantage of the free CLF Post 16 link bus service which travels between the CLF academies. CLF Post 16 Link Service Timetable. We recognise that some students travel considerable distance to access their studies with CLF Post 16 and we therefore reimburse a percentage of travel costs (fuel if driving or bus/ train tickets for public transport). If you live outside the free bus link catchment area, you may prefer to purchase a weekly First Bus Pass (£11) which can be reimbursed.
If you need support with bursary claims or using the link bus service please talk to your Student Support Leader, contact the Post 16 team on 0117 9882525 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
